We love starting a holiday party with a wine cocktail. Something that’s light, preferably bubbly, and easy to drink. It gets everyone in the spirit and can even serve as a palate cleanser before the big wines that will come with dinner. This holiday season, try this slightly spicy, slightly sweet maple and brandy spritz made with our Nightingale Botrytised Semillon.
A Spicy, Sweet Semillon Spritz featuring Beringer Nightingale Botrytised Semillon
Ingredients
- 4 oz Beringer Nightingale Botrytised Semillon
- 1 oz pear or apple brandy
- 1/2 oz honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Club soda or sparkling water
- Slices of pear or apple for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
Prepare the cocktail mix
In a cocktail shaker, combine the Semillon, pear or apple brandy, honey or maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg.
Shake It Up
Add ice to the shaker and shake the ingredients vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture.
Strain and Pour
Strain the cocktail mix into a glass filled with ice cubes and top up the glass with sparkling water, leaving a little room at the top.
Garnish the cocktail with slices of pear or apple. You can also add a cinnamon stick for an extra festive touch.
