There was early anticipation of a drought year with the start of the sunny 2021 vintage presenting low humidity, high heat, and high winds occurring at the beginning of May. Periods of late rain refreshed the vineyards in early summer with mild temperatures rounding out the end of a low-yield season without any of the significant climate and weather issues seen in some of the previous seasons. Whites in the 2021 vintage did not have strong phenolic character and were particularly well-balanced with fruit concentration and acidity.
