Vineyards
Located in a remote, bucolic corner of Sonoma County, just 17 miles north of the Beringer winery, Knights Valley sits in the shadow of Mount St. Helena. Its hilly terrain and rocky, alluvial soils offer the kind of drainage Petit Verdot thrives on, giving the wine its bold, structured character.
The Mallacomes name is a nod to the valley’s earlier identity as part of Rancho Mallacomes, an 1843 Mexican land grant that once covered much of what is now Knights Valley. The word “Mallacomes” comes from the nearby Serro de los Mallacomes (known today as Mount St. Helena) and connects this wine to the region’s long‑standing landscape and history, not a specific vineyard.
