Our winemakers craft Winery Exclusive wines to honor our winery heritage as well as to highlight our own viticultural explorations. Each of the wines in this collection are produced in limited quantities, showcasing a vineyard, varietal or growing region. Styled to be enjoyed upon release, these unique offerings may vary by vintage and reflect the quality, history and winemaking expertise that Beringer has been known for since 1876.
Pale lemon in color and clear in the glass, the Winery Exclusive Sauvignon Blanc exudes aromas of white flowers. Beneath the white flowers, crisp apple and citrus notes dominate with a touch of tart grapefruit. On the palate, the bright acidity helps accentuate the citrus and white flower which linger – giving you a delightful lengthy finish. The mouth-watering acidity and fresh citrus notes keep you coming back for more. Drink chilled to really accentuate its brightness. Ready to drink right away, or over the next two years.
Vintage 2020 was marked by late rains in the spring during bloom, and extreme lightning storms and heat spikes in mid to late August. It was a warm, dry winter and we didn't start to see rain and cold weather until the end of March. While the mild spring season gave us a great early start, the wineries of Napa Valley worked under extensive safety protocols due to the COVID pandemic. Summer brought very cool mornings and very warm days. This build-up to harvest was interrupted by two wildfires as we turned to the fall. Heat spikes continued into the middle of September. The vintage ended midway through the harvest season.
Mark Beringer, great-great-grandson of Beringer Vineyards' founding brother Jacob Beringer, was immersed in wine from the moment he was born in the heart of the Napa Valley. As the direct descendant to Beringer's first winemaker and one of the most iconic family names in Napa Valley wine history, he knew from a young age that he would follow in the footsteps of his ancestors. As a young man he spent many hours working in his family's wine store in Saint Helena, expanding his knowledge of wine as well as gaining an appreciation for wines outside of the famous region he has always called home.
