"Since 1876, we have hosted generations of guests traveling from around the world to share our wines. Beringer's Napa home is also the site of my happiest childhood memories, as I grew up celebrating holidays, birthdays, and other family occasions here. I made this Celebration Cuvee in tribute to the times we spend with family and friends - I'd be honored if you shared it with loved ones during your next celebration." - Mark Beringer, Winemaker

Tasting Notes

Aromas of allspice and cardamom, accented with cherry cordial liqueur, give way to flavors of dark fruits such as blackberry, blackcurrant, and rich sugar plums. Notes of fire roasted chestnuts and warmly baked cinnamon lead to velvety plush tannins with a lingering, lasting finish worthy of the finest celebrations.

Vintage Notes

The 2016 California wine-grape harvest was early, with a mostly normal yield of exceptional quality fruit. A relatively even growing season followed welcome winter rains that helped to alleviate the drought. Temperatures cooled down mid-September, providing a welcome week-long break between the harvest of white and red fruit. Overall, yields were down from the long-term average, while wine quality was exemplary. The grapes for this wine were harvest from September 22nd to October 15th.

Winemaking Notes

With the focus on celebrating Napa Valley, each distinctive lot is kept separate from the moment of harvest until final blending. This special release wine features a foundation of Cabernet Sauvignon, the backbone and undisputed star for Beringer. Joining Cabernet from outstanding vineyards is Howell Mountain Merlot, contributing to a round mouthfeel and soft tannins for immediate enjoyment. The wine was aged in 100% new French oak for 21 months.
