Varietal

The 2013 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of ripe black fruit, mocha, dried herbs and licorice. Opulent but structured, this versatile wine has supple blue and black fruit notes accented by dark chocolate, roasted coffee and a silky, lingering finish.

"One of the great efforts of recent years, and not surprisingly so, is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve. The wine could benefit from 7-10 years cellaring and probably last 30 to 40. When all is said and done, this is an instant classic, the wine full-bodied with oodles of crème de cassis, pen ink, graphite and baking spices. It is multi-dimensional, layered, and one of the all-time great Beringer Private Reserves – and there have been many."

"Graphite, smoke, inky blue/purplish fruit, wild flowers and lavender meld together to form an attractive mélange of aromas and flavors."

"A dark, powerful wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve shows the more virile side of the appellation. Black cherries, lavender, smoke, licorice and spices open up in the glass."  - Antonio Galloni, October 2015

Winemaker Laurie Hook has worked the Knights Valley vineyards for two decades, watching the vineyards evolve and noting which blocks and rows are particularly unique. Using fruit from those prized blocks, Laurie has crafted the Knights Valley Reserve Cabernet, which provides the purest and most layered expression of the unique terroir found in Knights Valley.

Inviting aromas lead to a lush, juicy palate where the red fruit flavors standout alongside touches of clove and allspice adding depth and complexity. The generous fruit is balanced by the bright acidity making this fresh and vibrant while also silky and satisying.

"The fruit is ripe and juicy, seemingly sweet and shaded by spicy, toasty oak, allowing tiers of flavors to unfold in a graceful, elegant and understated manner."
