About This Wine
The 2009 Modern Heritage Chardonnay is exclusively from Stanly Ranch, a vineyard that is located in the Carneros region close to the San Pablo Bay. The Bay’s cooling influences allow the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, maintaining an excellent balance between sugar and acid development. To preserve these bright characteristics, 70% of the blend was fermented in stainless steel, and 30% fermented in seasoned oak barrels which impart spice notes and a rich mouth feel. Aromas of apple, citrus and honeysuckle are complemented by ripe flavors of green apple and citrus zest, as well as a pleasing minerality that lingers into the finish.
