Vintage Tasting Notes
Widely considered among the best California vintages of the 1970s, this year saw above-average temperatures just before and throughout the harvest, which sent the sugars soaring. The resulting wines were ripe, rich and dense, with evident aging potential. The Private Reserve was again made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Chabot Vineyard (Lemmon Ranch). It epitomizes classic characteristics of intensity, polish and individuality; its many elements include red fruits, licorice, hints of mint and eucalyptus

PR Cab components (percentages): 100% Chabot

2007 Tasting Notes

  • Always been one of Ed’s favorites
  • Earthy, minty, cassis, cherry, dried mushroom, orange ring and chocolate finish
