1989 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1989 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Complex, and at an ideal drinking stage, with pretty plum, black cherry, currant, anise and spicy notes, finishing with firm, softening tannins and a nice dose of creamy oak

1990 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1990 Private reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Dense and massive, but for all its weight and intensity it delivers a rich, ripe mouthful of currant, cherry, plum, anise and cedary, toasty oak flavors. Impressive length, depth and concentration.

1991 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1991 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Beringer's 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve possesses excellent concentration, a smashing bouquet of smoky, unctuously-textured black and red fruits, sweet, generous, decadently rich flavors, low acidity, and a voluptuously long, juicy finish. This fabulous Cabernet should drink well for 15 or more years

1992 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1992 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The opaque-colored 1992 exhibits a huge, chocolatey, smoky nose crammed with gobs of black fruits. This soft, voluptuously-textured, full-bodied wine boasts remarkable concentration and purity. It is a round, flattering, luscious style of Cabernet Sauvignon that will be hard to resist when young. It should keep for 15+ years. Beringer has once again proven that they are one of the qualitative leaders in California as they continue to turn out reference point wines - not only for California, but the world

1995 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1995 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Winner of the Distinguished 2006 Judgement of Sauternes Tasting

A dazzling wine. Bursts with black-currant, plum, blackberry, tobacco, and olivaceous notes, and fine, toasty oak. Superb concentration; the fruit is simply fabulous, and so are the luscious, warm, silky tannins. Epitomizes class and elegance.

1996 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1996 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is still young and precocious, but don't judge it too quickly. Let it air in your glass, and watch how it changes. One minute it's all cherries and smoke; the next it heaves up a great draught of currants, cocoa and cedar. It's a big wine but deceptive; the tannins are airy and lilting, there's charm and underneath, enormous complexity. It's best left alone for a few more years, but it's really very lovely now.

1997 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1997 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Composed of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc, and aged in 100% new French oak for 22-24 months, it is a sensational effort. The opaque plum/purple color is followed by a superb nose of smoked herbs, melted licorice, and black currant jam. Full-bodied, with a silky texture, and an opulent personality, this sexy, full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon will be delicious young, yet last for 18-20 years.

1998 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1998 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

A strong effort, the 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a moderately intense bouquet of black currants infused with olive, smoke, licorice, and new oak. Supple, medium-bodied, and surprisingly evolved, with sweet fruit on the mid-palate and in the finish, it is a harmonious, charming offering.

1999 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon1999 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Enticing flavors of currants, minerals and brown spice. Very long, slow-building finish features big but sweet and fine tannins. Suave and impressive.

2000 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon2000 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Beringer should be proud of this effort in a year when many famous wineries did not succeed. Dense ruby with a purple hue, it exhibits a smoky, licorice-imbued red and black currant nose, and medium-bodied, nicely textured, supple flavors exhibiting hints of white chocolate and cocoa. While it does not possess the weight of great vintages, it is an elegant, pretty, pure Cabernet.

2002 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon2002 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

It is a fruit-forward, softer, more flamboyant, already seductive effort displaying gorgeous notes of chocolaty creme de cassis, some spicy, high-quality, toasty oak, a rich, plush, savory, expansive mid-palate, and a long, heady finish with elevated glycerin and plenty of sweet tannin and fruit. This wine is delicious yet promises to age gorgeously for 15-20 years.
