2003 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 375ml (Half-bottles, 12 per Case)

Wine Advocate | Robert Parker | June 30, 2011 "An elegant Cabernet, it reveals abundant notes of chocolate, black cherries, black currants and earth in its dense, medium to full-bodied personality. With beautiful purity, sweet tannin and a nicely delineated, structured mouthfeel, it is still a young, but accessible wine that will not reach full maturity for another 5-6 years. It should keep for at least two decades."

About This Wine
93 Pts Wine Spectator
Vinifying the fruit from each vineyard separately, Ed Sbragia and his winemaking partner Laurie Hook used gentle pump-over techniques for optimal extraction, and then aged the wines in hand-selected, custom-toasted barrels of new French Nevers oak. The wines went through 100% malolactic fermentation for added complexity and softness, and were aged just over two years before Ed selected the Cabernet Sauvignon blend from seven different single-vineyards - 32% St. Helena Home Ranch, 19% Steinhauer Ranch, 12% Marston Vineyard, 12% Bancroft Ranch, 8% Quarry Vineyard, 6% Rancho del Oso, and 6% Chabot. Also added to the blend is a touch of Cabernet Franc (5%) from Bancroft and Steinhauer Ranches.
